2010 : (Counter) Reformation / Beyond the Gamut

Winter 2010: (Counter)Reformation

Musical Responses to a Crisis of Faith

The sixteenth century saw the fragmentation of the Western church and a reaffirmation of the Catholic faith, transforming sacred music throughout Europe. Our program features works by Le Jeune, Senfl, Byrd, and others active during these decades of religious upheaval.
